This is a gorgeous late 1950s to early 1960s Scottish cashmere cardigan by Ballantyne of Peebles, specially made for David L. Lord of Burlington Arcade, London.
Crafted from 100% pure Scottish cashmere in a gorgeous deep petrol blue, a rich and sophisticated shade with subtle smoky undertones.
Featuring a classic round neckline, delicate coordinating buttons and long sleeves, this cardigan has a particularly elegant silhouette. Slightly longer than the typical 1950s styles, with a beautifully shaped, defined waist that creates a flattering feminine fit.
A wonderful example of luxury Scottish knitwear, combining the exceptional quality of Ballantyne cashmere with a timeless and beautifully tailored design.
