This is an absolutely stunning original 1940s black dress by the Danish label Det Blaa Mærke (The Blue Label), beautifully tailored in a lovely gabardine rayon.
This gorgeous dress features a wonderfully structured silhouette with strong shoulders, a classic pointed collar and elegant three-quarter-length sleeves finished with wide turned-back cuffs. The beautifully defined waist is accentuated by its original matching belt, while the softly shaped hips and straight skirt create that unmistakable 1940s silhouette.
The bodice is simply exquisite, decorated with numerous rows of delicate vertical pintucks interspersed with shimmering black sequins, adding a wonderful touch of understated glamour. A full row of buttons runs down the front, from the neckline to the hem.
A truly beautiful example of 1940s European fashion, combining sophisticated tailoring, exquisite decorative details and timeless elegance.
