This is a superb dress from the very late 1930s or very early 1940s. The fabric is black crepe. She has a stunning front pleated design that goes in diagonal from the shoulders to the waist and from there a precious pleated stole falls down. Exquisite cut! Vertical waist seams on the back. Padded shoulders. Extremely elegant!
