Beautiful late 1940s / early 1950s rayon dress, featuring a wonderfully rich abstract floral print in deep teal, emerald green, blue and warm rust tones.
The dress has a beautifully sculpted silhouette, with short sleeves, a defined waist, softly fitted skirt and wide notched collar. One of its loveliest details is the detachable modesty panel at the neckline, made from the matching printed rayon and secured discreetly with small hooks. It can be worn in place for a higher, more covered neckline, or completely removed to reveal a deeper and more open décolletage — essentially giving the dress two different looks.
Finished with a period metal side zipper and a back skirt vent. The fluid rayon gives the strong graphic print a subtle sheen and beautiful movement.
