Absolutely gorgeous original 1950s Pringle of Scotland sweater, made in Scotland from 100% pure cashmere and originally retailed by Old England, Naples.
A beautiful example of mid-century Scottish luxury knitwear, in a wonderfully vibrant emerald/grass green. Classic fitted 1950s silhouette with short sleeves, round neckline and a particularly wide ribbed waistband designed to sit neatly at the waist.
The original labels are still present: the early Styled by Pringle – Made in Scotland label together with the retailer identification for Old England, Naples, and the separate 100% Pure Cashmere – Made in Scotland label.
Pringle's cashmere knitwear became one of the house's signatures in the post-war period, and during the 1950s its pieces were sold internationally through prestigious retailers.
