This is a beautiful late 1950s dress, made in Paris, in a soft ivory and dusty sienna gingham cotton.
A wonderful design featuring a fitted bodice with a wide notched collar, three-quarter sleeves and a beautifully full, gathered skirt. The dress fastens down the front with matching fabric-covered buttons and retains its original matching belt with a covered buckle.
A particularly lovely detail is the use of natural linen on the belt and as contrasting trim at the collar and sleeve cuffs, adding subtle texture and giving the dress a beautifully refined finish.
Made in Paris in the late 1950s, although unfortunately the original maker's label is no longer present.
