This is a stunning dress from the 1940s by Grovine, New York. The fabric is black rayon crepe. Exquisite and extremely elegant cut. It has a precious handmade gold organic ornament on the collar. It closes with metal zippers, one on the side and one on the back-collar. On the waist, it has one strap on each side coming from the back to the front, but there is no buckle or something to tie them up. The straps have no signs that there was a buckle.
