This is an adorable late 1940s to early 1950s handmade dress, crafted from lightweight silk in a delicate, almost silvery pale ice blue shade, with a subtle woven horizontal stripe pattern.
Featuring a lovely fitted waist, softly pleated skirt and charming short puff sleeves finished with buttoned cuffs.
The standout detail is the gorgeous oversized, double-layered sailor-style collar, with softly unfinished edges that highlight its handmade character and give the dress a wonderfully romantic touch.
The dress also comes with its original matching belt, which we unfortunately forgot to photograph!
Finished with a side zipper fastening and beautiful feminine tailoring.
A truly charming example of handmade mid-century fashion, full of delicate details and understated elegance.
